Yeah,...I can't get my 17x (2023) with RTX4080 to even get hot at all! I dog it with benchmarks galore and no setting get's it out of the low 70's. For some damn reason, this thing FORCES everything down at 70 degrees. The BIOS just handcuffs the CPU and doesn't allow it to fly. That means terrible Cinebench scores and cold air blowing out of the fans.

nice and extensive review, you covered a lot of aspects. To summarize, it's a shame that most Elite versions are the 80 one (slower turbo and GPU) and not the 84 one. Even so, Microsoft has to put a lot of cash and effort towards AVX(2) translation, Adreno GPU drivers and DRM-Software ARM support. Until then, the compatibilities may make ARM on Windows unviable.

I have gen 9 (2024) with 8845HS and rtx 4060. While the temperature never go up to 80 Celcius, the fan noise is annoying. At 60 Celcius, the fan already in high rpm (didn't check, observed based on fan noise only)

Practically all games work under emulation therefore it is not difficult to state that the processor (often the GPU doesn't even work) is absolutely performing above all expectations. I'm sure that if it had been possible to use a game converted specifically for ARM we would have seen much better results than what is shown today. Let me start by saying that I have a MACBOOK Pro M3 PRO (1tb ssd version) and I can guarantee that for example, Baldur's Gate which was created in the M chip version, does NOT have excellent performance, the resolution must remain within 1080P and the details at medium level to be played. Furthermore, the MAC heats up really a lot, bordering on concern.... This Samsung PC is exceptional, I also believe that the GPU is absolutely not exploited by converted games and I still believe that if this PC, which was NOT designed for gaming, achieves these results, with the next updates and conversions it will become a flagship product.
